Dances We Teach

Wilmington Ballroom is proud to offer the city's best instruction in:

Ballroom Dances including Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, and Quickstep (International and American Styles)
International Latin & American Rhythm Dances like Rumba, Cha-Cha, Jive, Swing, Samba, Bolero, Mambo and Paso
Wedding Dance Choreography and Instruction (first dance, father-daughter dance, and/or entire wedding party)

Private Lessons

Private lessons are the cornerstone of the dance education offered at Wilmington Ballroom, as private lessons offer students the best value. During private lessons, students work one-on-one with their instructors to learn the steps and techniques they need to excel on the dance floor. The one-on-one structure of private lessons provides students a better opportunity to learn movements, as it allows the instructor to tailor lessons to the needs of each student. The personalized attention offered during private lessons allows newcomers and advanced students alike to experience rapid development in their dance abilities.

Wedding Packages

Wilmington Ballroom recognizes that recently-engaged couples have unique needs when planning their wedding dance. Therefore, we offer packages that allow the bride and groom to learn unique choreography to their selected First Dance music in a private environment. Through a series of private lessons, couples have the opportunity to discuss their needs and goals one-on-one with their instructor, who will develop choreography to fit the unique desires of each couple. After Alex has designed a unique wedding dance for the couple, he will help the bride and groom practice their routine, so that they can leave their wedding guests in awe. Additionally, Wilmington Ballroom also offers father-daughter lessons and larger packages for couples who want to involve their whole wedding party.

When I decided to pursue ballroom dance lessons, I never thought I would learn so much. Alex is an extremely talented instructor who is able to ensure that his students learn the correct technique and styling, while also keeping lessons upbeat and fun. Having danced with multiple instructors over 10 years as a ballet dancer and 7 years as a ballroom dancer, I've yet to meet any instructor as gifted and capable as Alex.
